The Berkshire Mountains has some of the best spring-fed and glacier lakes in the Northeast, and Lake Buel is no exception. It’s perfect for sailing, canoeing, kayaking, even waterskiing. The lake also includes a sliding board and BONGO for swimming and splashing excitement. We have sailing instruction available as well, making Camp Half Moon one of the most exciting and well rounded day camp and sleep away camp in New England.

Only 12 Days to Go - We're Working Hard at Camp Half Moon!!!

We've been working at a feverish pace to get Camp Half Moon of the Berkshires ready for our campers! There are several new additions that we're extremely excited about unveiling in 12 Days:

This is our new dance studio! It might look like a bit of a mess right now, but our crew is working non-stop all day to make sure that it's ready. It will be fully equipped to accommodate 20 students at a time, and we'll teach all different types of dance styles including jazz, street, and modern!

We've also added a ballet bar and mirrors everywhere to our rec hall to accommodate for classical dance styles.

The first camper who guesses what this will be, gets a free T-Shirt! Just post your answer on our Facebook Page. We're certain that this mystery construction site (and another one just like it) will bring hours of enjoyment to the campers of Camp Half Moon!

Julia has been hard at work making sure that the grounds and bunks are in tip top shape. As you can see, she is getting help from her trusted companion Charlie! We can't wait to see all of the activity humming around the camp grounds.

The Camp Half Moon pool is nice and clean. Now we just need more sunshine to warm it up! Anyone up for a game of marco-polo?

Spencer is sure to perk up when he sees all of the excitement and fun when our campers start to roll in on the buses! Right now, he's a bit bummed that it's all work and no play at Camp Half Moon :( Hang in there Spencer, only 12 Days to go!!!

Only 25 Days To Go Until Summer Fun Begins!!!

Now that it's finally starting to feel like summer, it's hard not to feel the excitement building at Camp Half Moon of the Berkshire Mountains. While it's quiet here right now, this place will be buzzing with activity in less than a month! We can't wait to see the buses start rolling up, and friends reunite after another long school year. We have plenty of team building activities planned, so that everyone gets a chance to interact with one another and build new friendships as well.

Camp Half Moon lives by the mantra "Always a new friend - always a new adventure." You will see this philosophy intertwined with every activity we plan, and that is why the memories here last a lifetime. If you look at the list of our Sleep Away Camp Program and Activities, you will clearly see that there is something here for everyone. We guarantee that nobody will feel left out, or that they do not fit in at Camp Half Moon.

One thing is for sure: all of this New England rain has made for a very green spring at Camp Half Moon in the Berkshires! The trees' leaves are completely grown in, and the fields are ready for soccer, baseball, hiking, lacrosse, volleyball, BMX riding, and all of your other favorite activities! The high and low ropes courses are all set, and the skate park has been broom swept.

We Can't Wait to Start Our 89th Summer Camp Session in the Berkshire Mountains!!!

It's another beautiful day in Western Massachusetts at Camp Half Moon! As we put the finishing touches on our Spring cleanup, it's impossible not to feel the excitement as we enter our 89th Summer Camp Session in the Berkshire Hills. With only 47 Days to go until our Day Camp and Sleep Away Camp start, our staff is in full gear to make sure that everything is set up for our happy campers. Our high and low ropes courses have been thoroughly inspected and maintained, and the heated pool is being cleaned as I write this post. With the trees in full bloom, and the grass as green as I've ever seen, it is very clear that we are in for a great summer of fun and activities.

Our motorboat is ready for waterskiing on Lake Buel, and the sailboats have been rigged for the wind! Of course, the kayaks, canoes, and BONGO are ready for your enjoyment too. I can't wait to get everyone in the water and start the daily swimming lessons for everyone under 12! The water slide is also ready for action after a long lonely winter!
